Taught by Ted Case
This class includes two components:
- Video tutorials taught by Ted that guide you through learning new songs and theory concepts at your level, and
- Weekly live Zoom classes centered around student performances.
Zoom meetings will take place:
- Wednesdays 6:00p - 6:50p (PT)
- June 21st, 28th; July 12th, 19th
- Classes are recorded and sent out after class. You do not have to be able to attend every class live to sign up. If you have a conflict with some or all of the live classes, the Zoom recordings work in tandem with the video tutorials to keep you on track.
Every songwriter and producer can benefit from fluency at the piano keyboard. To use the instrument as a writer, you only need a handful of essential skills that carry across most genres of music. Learn them thoroughly and they will serve you for the rest of your life.
In this course, you will learn and perform classic songs as vehicles for skill-learning. Each song is taught in 5 levels of difficulty, with each level introducing a new essential skill. For example, if you’re at Level 3, you will learn the “broken chords” concept. You will apply that same skill to a new song each week, so that it becomes comfortable by the end of the month. Students have the opportunity to graduate from their Level at the end of the month by recording a video performance for instructor review.
Every week you will:
- watch assigned tutorial videos designed for your level
- practice an assigned song throughout the week
- perform for your peers in class at the end of the week

If after the first week classes you feel the course is not a good fit for any reason, you are welcome to a refund on the rest of the course classes.
Limited enrollment. You will retain access to the video tutorials through 9/19/23.
