Eight (8) 75-minute classes, twice a week. Limited enrollment.

Taught in a live, interactive classroom setting on Zoom

  • Mondays & Fridays, 3:30p - 4:45p (PT)
  • June 16th, 20th, 23rd, 27th, 30th. July 7th, 11th, and 14th
  • Please note, we will not have class on Friday July 4th due to the US Holiday, but will have our final class on Monday July 14th instead.
  • Classes are recorded and sent out after class. You do not have to be able to attend every class live to sign up.

This follow up to Fingerpicking for Folk Guitar will dive deeper into more challenging excerpts from an eclectic mix of the world’s best folk guitarists, including Doc Watson, Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake, Paul Simon, Elizabeth Cotten, Violeta Parra, and more. We will also revisit the concepts of rhythmic and melodic independence with creative and challenging exercises. Weekly recording prompts and in-class discussions give students the benefit of participating in a community of avid guitarists.

  • Playing in odd time signatures and advanced rhythmic feels

  • Building confidence in creating and/or improvising original melodies within a chord progression
